How to learn to type

While some typing courses emphasise rhythm or speed (often based in the days where people copytyped onto manual typewriters), this course is based around Accuracy

Typing quickly is completely pointless without accuracy - if you have to delete every third keypress because it is wrong, you will not be typing quickly.

So, all you need to do to learn to type accurately and therefore quickly, is to type very carefully. Simply type the line of red writing into the white box. If you make a mistake, simply press the correct key - there's no need to press delete.

Try not to guess where the next key is - stop and think, try to remember. Look at the Finger window, or even at the keyboard itself, to see where the key is. (But try to avoid looking at the keyboard when you are moving your fingers - keep your hands still while you peek, then look back at the screen before you press the key). If you make too many mistakes, you'll begin to learn the mistake, rather than the correct position.

Once you have typed the line of text with no mistakes twice in a row, you will proceed to the next exercise. Good luck!
